Pleasant Valley, California Recreation and Park District (PVRPD) installed outdoor AED enclosures in late 2023 at four parks in the district. These outdoor AED enclosures use a keyless entry system to keep AED units secure from tamper and theft while making them available for emergency use 24/7.
While PVRPD is not the first system in California to install this lifesaving equipment, they are among only a select few nationwide that have incorporated publicl facing instructions for accessing the AED units.
When you go to the PVRPD website there is a link to AEDs on the main menu which provides the locations for the AED units in the parks, instructions for how to access the devices in an emergency, and instructions for use.
Kudos to PVRPD for making this information available to their citizens!
